Evolution
What does the Theory of Evolution say?
In biological evolution, pre-existing natural variation is subject to selection by both biotic and abiotic factors in the environment. The population gradually changes as individuals carrying alleles that give higher fitness in a given environment form a bigger proportion of the population ("adaptation to the environment"). Thus, species change over time, and populations can be isolated from one another to form separate species by both extrinsic and intrinsic genomic factors. Read more on this Darwin site. Stem Cell Research
What does Research Say?
Adult stem cell research gives far more promising results than embryonic stem research, and avoids the problem of rejection by using the patient's own cells. To keep up to date with this issue. Human Life
What does Biology Say?
Human life begins at conception. A new individual is formed as a the egg and sperm join to form a zygote. The individual is human if formed from the union of a human sperm and a human egg. Fertilization of the egg to form the zygote takes place in the fallopian tubes and the newly formed individual then travels to the uterus to implant. What does the Church Say?
